The Octave 2:1 - The Geometry of Halving 

The Octave App explores the fundamental law of musical space: the 2/1 ratio. By dividing a vibrating string exactly in half, you create a primary node that doubles the frequency, allowing you to hear the same sound in a higher dimension. Use the interactive interface to pluck the virtual string or move the division point to observe how the mathematical relationship changes. In keeping with our system of pure sound, results are displayed strictly as fractions and powers of 2, revealing the "genetic" link between the fundamental length and its first harmonic division.  

Pythagoras proved that what we hear as a "natural leap" is actually a perfect geometric division.
